The episode starts with Abhira worriedly saying that she will find the ring. She wonders where the ring could have gone since no one entered the outhouse, and the doors and windows were all closed. She is confused about how the ring disappeared. Meanwhile, Ruhi sees the ring. A flashback shows Ruhi watching Abhira fight with some thieves. Ruhi waits there until Abhira falls asleep. Then, Ruhi sneaks in, steals the ring, and leaves. Abhira, holding the ring box, smiles in her sleep. The flashback ends.

Ruhi thinks to herself, “You stole my love, so I stole your ring. I’ve been hurt ever since Armaan left me at the mandap (wedding altar) for you. Now everyone will see that you aren’t right for this family, especially when you can’t even keep track of a single ring.” Abhira sits down and cries, worried about what will happen now. She thinks about how Armaan must be getting ready for their engagement.

Armaan talks to Dadi and is surprised when she says she won’t give the ancestral bangles to Abhira. Dadi explains that she asked Abhira to change her name, but Abhira refused. Armaan tells Dadi that this is wrong and insists on having a proper wedding with all the rituals. He says he doesn’t want Abhira to change her name because she is responsible. Dadi disagrees and says the engagement will happen without that ritual. Vidya steps in, saying the ritual will happen and offers her bangles to Abhira instead. Abhira cries and walks away, feeling overwhelmed and saying she isn’t responsible enough. She doesn’t know what to do. Armaan comes to her, and Ruhi watches them.

Armaan notices something is wrong and asks Abhira if the parlor canceled her appointment or if she didn’t like the dress. He reassures her that there’s still time before the engagement and asks her to tell him what’s bothering her so they can fix it together. Before she can say anything, Vidya comes in and tells Abhira to get ready quickly. Vidya asks Abhira if she has Armaan’s ring because she wants to decorate it. Armaan, still trying to reassure everyone, says that Abhira will handle everything. Vidya laughs and leaves. Armaan again asks Abhira what’s wrong, but Abhira avoids the question, saying she’ll go and get ready. Ruhi, watching all of this, thinks to herself that Abhira will eventually confess the truth.

Ruhi then thinks about how she made a mistake by letting her love go and decides to fix it. She feels she has a right to the ring. Just then, Vidya and Manisha enter the kitchen. Ruhi quickly hides the ring in a cooker. Vidya and Manisha argue about who will make khichdi (a type of rice dish), and in the process, they accidentally drop the cooker. Ruhi quickly apologizes and offers to clean up and make the khichdi herself. Vidya agrees and leaves with Manisha. Once alone, Ruhi retrieves the ring and vows not to lose it.

Meanwhile, Armaan is puzzled, wondering why Abhira seemed worried. Krish teases Armaan, and the family encourages him to do something romantic for Abhira during the engagement. They all ask him to make the moment special. Armaan agrees and expresses his feelings for Abhira. Krish jokes, saying he wishes he could get engaged to Armaan. Charu and Kiara, other family members, get emotional and happy. Aryan says that Abhira will fall in love with Armaan after the engagement. Armaan laughs, but Abhira, feeling guilty, says to herself that she doesn’t deserve Armaan.

Vidya brings a dress and jewelry for Abhira, placing them on a tray. Ruhi offers to take the dress to Abhira, hoping to also get Armaan’s ring, but Vidya tells her to stay and watch the food while she and Kiara deliver the items. Dadi comments that Abhira, who is proud of being middle-class, needs to look more like someone from their class. Vidya assures her that everything will be fine.

Abhira sees Vidya and Kiara coming and quickly hides a torn cushion. Vidya notices the mess and asks about it. Kiara makes an excuse, saying rats caused the damage, and promises to arrange for pest control. Vidya hands Abhira the dress and jewelry and asks about the ring. Abhira stalls, saying she needs to perform a prayer in front of her mother’s picture first. Vidya agrees and reminds Abhira to be respectful, as she is soon to become their elder daughter-in-law. Kiara then mentions that Dadi was upset last time when Abhira’s saree didn’t fit properly, so she leaves to fetch some pins to fix the dress. Abhira says to herself that she can’t keep lying today.
