Suhaagan 20th August 2024 Written Episode Update on storynstatus.com

The episode begins with Pandit Ji instructing Vedant to take five rounds around the funeral pyre. Vedant is heartbroken and starts crying as he takes the rounds. After completing the rounds, he breaks down completely. Rudra hugs him, trying to comfort him. Pandit Ji then asks Vedant to take the firewood and light the pyre. Vedant, overwhelmed with grief, says he can’t do it.

Meanwhile, Swara, who is lying on the pyre, is thinking, “Hear my heartbeat, and save me.” Unable to go through with the final ritual, Vedant runs away in tears. Koel, noticing the delay, says that Vedant is not in the right state of mind to understand what’s happening. She reminds everyone that if the last rites are not completed before evening, they will have to wait until the next day. Rudra then asks who else can perform the ritual. Pandit Ji replies that anyone close to Swara can do it. Koel suggests that Shlok should light the pyre. Shlok picks up the firewood, but Swara, still conscious, thinks, “This clever woman will burn me alive,” and prays to Bholenaath for help.

Meanwhile, Vedant arrives at a temple and sees a puja taking place for Shivling and Naagdevta. He questions Mahadev, asking how his divine servant could kill his wife on Naag Panchami. In his anger, Vedant declares that there will be no more Naag Panchami puja in his house. He even goes so far as to place his hand over a diya (oil lamp). Just then, a snake charmer arrives and stops him. The snake charmer explains that because the Naag Panchami puja is done in Vedant’s house, God sent him to help. He reveals that he found a Krait snake in the haveli and says that if Mahadev wills it, Swara can still be saved. He explains that when a snake bites someone, it can cause paralysis, making the body numb with no detectable pulse. However, the person can still be alive for 4-5 hours. He urges Vedant to bring Swara to him so he can administer an antidote.

Vedant, realizing there’s still hope, rushes back to stop the funeral. As he runs, a strong wind blows out the fire on the pyre. Baldev takes this as a sign that Ambe Maa does not want the funeral to happen. However, Koel is determined to complete the ritual and instructs Pandit Ji to relight the pyre. Vedant, still running, thinks, “I can’t let Swara’s pyre burn; I have to stop it.” He stumbles and falls but quickly gets up, determined to save Swara.

Back at the pyre, Shlok is about to light it when Vedant arrives and shouts that he won’t let anything happen to Swara. Swara tries to stop Shlok mentally. Despite everyone’s protests, Vedant removes the wooden logs from the pyre and lifts Swara from the burning pyre. Koel tries to stop him, saying it’s wrong to interrupt the funeral, but Vedant insists that burning someone alive is a greater wrong. Rudra warns that stopping a funeral is inauspicious, but Vedant doesn’t listen. He carries Swara away, telling everyone to follow him.

Vedant brings Swara to the snake charmer, who applies the antidote to her foot. Vedant anxiously asks why she hasn’t regained consciousness, as 45 minutes have passed. The snake charmer says it’s now in God’s hands. Dhwani doubts how someone could survive after being on a pyre, while Koel insists that Swara should be burned before she regains consciousness. Vedant, however, is convinced Swara is alive and argues that last rites should only be performed for the dead. Koel tries to reason with him, saying they must accept that Swara is gone and that he should let go.

In desperation, Vedant prays to God at the temple, pleading for Swara’s life. Meanwhile, the snake charmer advises everyone to be patient. Just as Shlok is about to lift Swara for the final rites, he notices her eyes moving and shouts that Swara is alive. Rudra calls out to Vedant, who rushes over to Swara. Swara slowly regains consciousness, and Vedant gives her water. Baldev congratulates Vedant, saying his faith has triumphed.

Manju, another family member, compares Vedant to Satyavaan from the story of Sati Savitri, praising him for saving his wife. Amma echoes this sentiment, saying Vedant has saved his “suhaagan.” Indu, another relative, mentions that if it weren’t for Vedant, Swara’s last rites would have been performed by now. Shlok regrets having nearly lit the pyre. Rudra thanks the snake charmer, but the charmer humbly declines any gratitude and leaves.

Swara, now fully conscious, reassures Vedant that nothing can harm her as long as he is with her. Baldev, feeling faint but relieved, says he’s fine now that Swara is safe. Rudra suggests taking Swara home and tells Vedant to come along. Indu advises Vedant to take good care of Swara, and Swara tells Shlok to look after Dadu. Manju, still in shock, wonders aloud how the snake managed to bite Swara. Swara reveals that the snake was deliberately set on her to harm her.
